Bio
PGA Director of Golf at River Landing in Wallace, North Carolina. Tied for 16th in the 2021 Senior PGA Professional Championship. Winner of the 2005 Carolinas PGA Section Championship, the 2018 Section Players Championship, and three Section Pro-Assistant titles, 2008, ‘13, ’14, and was the 2016 Johnny Palmer Award recipient for the lowest stroke average among the Section major championships. A native of Savannah, Georgia, his family relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, when George was five years old. His first job out of college was at a skiing school in Breckenridge, Colorado. He entered the golf profession at Estes Park Golf Course as an assistant professional. He later took a job as the PGA Head Professional at The Country Club at Landfall in 1991. Six years later, he returned to Colorado as the PGA Head Professional at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, and then back to North Carolina where he served five years at Echo Farms Country Club. George became the PGA Director of Golf at The River Landing in 2003.
Competed in three PGA Professional Championships, with best finish T-62 in 2006. His wife, Patty, who is an expert skier and instructor, often caddies for George in events. Competed in three PGA Tour events - RBC Heritage (Harbor Town), Wells Fargo Classic and the Wyndham Championship (formerly the Greater Greensboro Open).
